A drive that streams, not a folder that syncs
Sync tools were built to copy documents between laptops. Driveless was built for 40 GB clips, 200 GB EXR sequences and a library that will never fit on one machine.
Only the bytes an application asks for
Every file in your library is stored as 4 MB blocks. When Resolve, Premiere or Nuke reads a range of a file, Driveless fetches only the blocks covering that range and hands them to the application through the operating system's own file API.
The application never knows the difference. Scrubbing a timeline asks for a scattered handful of blocks; a render reads them in order. Either way, the rest of the file stays where it is until it's needed.
The other 41.19 GB stay in the cloud.
Three places a block can live
Reads are served from the nearest tier that has the block. Writes land on local NVMe first and stream up in the background, so saving never waits on the network.
Laptop or workstation NVMe
Recently used blocks and anything pinned. Size is configurable; the cache evicts itself.
Studio cache on your LAN
Runs on any always-on Mac, PC or NAS in the office. Shared by every bay, pre-warms active projects overnight.
Cloud storage
Mumbai region for residency, or Singapore for cost. Encrypted, versioned, snapshotted.
What the drive gives your editors
Works in every app, no plug-ins
Driveless is a drive at the operating-system level. Resolve, Premiere, After Effects, Nuke, Blender, Final Cut and your file browser see ordinary files.
Same path on every machine
A project opened in Bengaluru relinks nothing in Mumbai, because the media path is identical on both.
Offline when you need it
Pin a folder before a shoot. It stays on disk until you unpin it, and edits sync back when you reconnect.
Every save is recoverable
Overwrote the wrong graded export? Open the version from an hour ago. Deleted files wait 30 days.
Share a link, collect frame notes
Clients watch in a browser and comment on a timecode. Notes land next to the file, not in a WhatsApp thread.
Send finals without leaving the drive
Deliveries are links to the same files, with expiry and download tracking. No re-uploading a 30 GB master.
Record this once the alpha is stable: a cold open of a 41 GB ProRes clip from the drive into Resolve, scrubbing at full speed, with the Activity Monitor disk usage visible at 0 B. This clip is the whole pitch in fifteen seconds.
Security and where your data lives
Every block is encrypted before it leaves the machine and stays encrypted at rest. Access is per workspace and per project, so a freelancer sees one folder and nothing else, and every open, edit and download lands in the audit log.
Studios answering client security questionnaires can choose storage in an Indian region and receive a data-processing addendum aligned with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

On the roadmap
Shipping order is set by what design-partner studios ask for most.
| Feature | What it does | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Studio cache | Software cache on a machine you already own; serves hot media to every bay | Beta with design partners |
| Proxy generation | ProRes Proxy and H.264 proxies made in the cloud, so HQ masters cut on any line and relink at export | Beta with design partners |
| Archive tier | Move finished projects to ₹399 per TB cold storage without leaving the drive | Next |
| SSO and SCIM | Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra sign-in, automatic seat provisioning | Planned |
| API and agent access | Scripts and AI tools read the library through the same drive and permissions | Planned |
| AEC workflows | Revit, Rhino and point-cloud libraries for architecture and engineering | 2027 |
See it on your own footage
Bring a project on a drive. We mount it, hand you the laptop, and you scrub it in Resolve over your own office link.
